Gilgamesh - The Golden King of Babylon ([personal profile] kinpika) wrote2011-04-03 08:10 pm

11th

[Oh yes, a potion of youth.

Of course the king who owns everything has this in his treasury. But while he's out, he decides to take a detour for ice cream. And other sweets.

But that detour has other detours. The boy king stops at every house along the way, knocking at the door. This is doubly sure if he knows who's there.]

Hello? Hello? Is there anyone home today? I want to talk.

[Of course, you can catch him at home too.

But fair warning. This post may contain hugs. Just saying.]

Or maybe it's because I have to deal with a gilded idiot who thinks he's the greatest thing ever to exist.

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Haaah! I wonder who that could be.

[identity profile] riastrad-ridire.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
...

[Lancer couldn't quite stop himself from smirking at that.]

No idea. He's so unimportant it seems I've forgotten his name.

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Must have been some Irish king.

[identity profile] riastrad-ridire.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Real funny, kid.

[And yet somehow he wasn't half as annoyed as he should've been. Goddamnit, Gilgamesh wasn't supposed to be cute.]

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
People always laugh at my jokes.

[identity profile] riastrad-ridire.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Sure it's not just you they're laughing at?

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
They laugh because they have to.

[identity profile] riastrad-ridire.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Or what, face the wrath of a ten-year-old tyrant?

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Something like that. But I wouldn't kill my subjects.

[identity profile] riastrad-ridire.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
I'd hope not, at least. You'd probably run out of them in a week.

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
I would tell you a good story but I decided it was too long.

[identity profile] riastrad-ridire.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I can't imagine the King of Heroes bothering to have the patience to tell me much of anything.

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
It's a good story though!

[identity profile] riastrad-ridire.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Then why not tell it? It isn't as if I don't have time.

[Lancer would deny forever any notion that he might have liked Gilgamesh this way. But it beat the hell out of the usual jackass he dealt with.]

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Except when Ko-Gil has EX Rank luck and destroys you at card games, just saiyan.]

Let's see...one time, I called ten servants before me...

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
I ordered them to be executed. [And this story is horribly mangled.] Then I took my words back because it would have been a waste to kill such good servants.

[identity profile] riastrad-ridire.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
...

What? Were you trying to prove a point or something?

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Those who serve me are more important than thousands who do not.

[identity profile] riastrad-ridire.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
...tch.

You've got me wondering, kid. You really believe being a king means everyone and everything is only worth as much as you say it is?

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Huh? But why should I care about people I don't rule?

[identity profile] kinpika.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder...

...how much do you worry about the people you kill?

[identity profile] riastrad-ridire.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Worry about them? I don't--I've killed plenty of people in my lifetime. Soldiers in single combat, entire armies in impossible odds, but I never did anything like worry about those I fought. Why should I, when a death in honorable combat is the best that any warrior can ask for? And would they have worried in my position, or reveled in the glory of defeating me?

[Lancer paused, idly wondering why he was bothering to be so honest with Gilgamesh of all people.]

...I truly regretted the outcome of a fight once. Only once, and never before or since. But worry? Never.
